COMMIT TO GET HEALTHY AND STAY FIT

 

Being healthy means more than simply being physically active. It’s about maintaining a balanced spirit, mind and body. Whether you’re young or old, beginner or veteran, the Y offers a variety of equipment, classes and programs for getting and staying healthy. Anyone age 13 and older can participate. Class sizes are limited.

  • REGISTRATION FOR ALL CLASSES IS REQUIRED.
    • You can register on-line or by calling the branch.
      • For AM classes, the deadline is 7pm the night before.
      • For PM classes, the deadline is 1pm day-of.
      • No drop-ins will be allowed.
      • Class attendance will be taken prior to the start of each class, only those registered will be allowed to participate.
      • Anyone taking an outdoor class, MUST first stop in the building to get screened and a blue wristband.

Group Ex General Health & Safety Information

  • You are required to wear a mask to enter the Y and travel through the common areas (like hallways, locker rooms and the pool deck).
  • When taking a Group Exercise class, you must wear your mask until the class begins. You can take it off during class if you feel you cannot safely participate with one on but a mask must be put back on after class has ended.

ALL STAFF & PARTICIPANTS will be screened prior to entering the Y and participation in classes.

  • Anyone exhibiting a fever of 100.4 or higher or other symptoms of illness will not be permitted to enter the Y.
    • Per PA guidelines,
      • Anyone who has traveled to a designated “travel restricted” area will not be permitted to enter the Y and will be asked to follow the recommended guidelines for such travel.
      • Anyone who has had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 will not be permitted to enter the Y and will be asked to follow the recommended guidelines for such an exposure.

  • Class capacities have been developed following recommended guidelines and will be restricted/reduced to the following:
    • Lansdowne Branch
      • Outdoor classes – maximum 12 participants
      • Indoor classes – maximum 8 participants
    • Ridley Branch
      • Outdoor classes – maximum 12 participants
      • Indoor classes (Gym B) – maximum 15 participants
    • Springfield Branch
      • Studio 1 classes – maximum 12 participants
      • Gymnasium Classes – maximum 15 participants
      • Outdoor classes (parking garage) – maximum 15 participants
  • Your personal work-out space will be marked to ensure physical distancing. Please don’t move outside of your personal work-out space.
  • Outdoor classes may be cancelled due to excessive heat or inclement weather. We will do our best to notify you of any cancellations in advance.
  • Class participants must bring their own mats, towel, blocks, stretch straps, etc.
    • Y owned weight equipment, aerobic steps, body bars, ect will be provided and disinfected after each class.
  • The YMCA will provide individual spray bottles and paper towels for you to wipe down any equipment that you have used at the end of your class.

We understand that you may not agree with these new measures. However, as a YMCA we have no choice but to follow the orders mandated by the Secretary of Health or shut the Y down again. None of us want that!
