Helping Working Families Back to School

The YMCA is proud to partner with the Upper Darby School District in offering a Before and After School program that will give families an option when parents have to be at work.

At the Y, a leading nonprofit strengthening community through youth development, we work every day to help children set and achieve their personal and educational goals. We believe the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for quality of life and future success. That’s why, we are both humbled and elated, to have been chosen as the new School Age Child Care provider for the Upper Darby School District.

Our programs are staffed with people who understand the cognitive, physical and social development of children, the need they have to feel connected and supported in trying new things and the caring and reinforcement parents and families need to help each other. At the Y, children experience literacy and learn about their world, make friends, learn new skills, and complete daily homework. More importantly, children learn how to be their best selves. All of these together, make for confident children today and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow.

The Y is committed to creating education-driven programs that enhance a child’s school year in a safe and enriching environment. Rest assured, your kids are in good hands at the Y.

Program Locations

Kindergarten Center, Aronimink Elementary, Garrettford Elementary, Hillcrest Elementary, and Westbrook Park Elementary.

Program Hours

Deposit/Enrollment:

A deposit equal to one-month tuition is due at the time of enrollment. The deposit will be applied to the last month your child participates in the program.

A non refundable enrollment fee of $30 is due at the time of enrollment.

Enrollment is month-to-month and due to the YMCA by the 15th of each month for the next month of service.

General Tuition Information:

Tuition payments are due to the YMCA by the 15th of each month for the next month of service.

• Full-time (5 day) enrollments are accepted first.
• Part-Time will be accepted and must be consistent for the week enrolled.
• ELRC/CCIS funding is accepted.
• Automatic draft payment plans can be set up. Please contact Jeannine Hurlock to set up your account.
• Our Equal Access For All Assistance is available for all programs. ELRC/CCIS funded tuition is not eligible for Equal Access Assistance.
• For Elementary School students: Half-days of school are included in the monthly tuition.
• For Kindergarten students who are not enrolled in the Before/After School program; care from 1130am-1230pm is available ($12/day). Registration is required.
