Summer Camps

Act It Out Camp – The world is your stage, and the Y is ready to help you act it out! Join us for a week of improv and creativity. Campers will uncover their talents through a series of games and activities, while learning the art of acting, a little playwriting and of course, improvisation! We’ll end the week with a final performance for our family and friends! Space is limited, sign up today!

Art Safari Camp – There is no better way to learn about nature than to experience it through art. Join us for this exciting art camp where we will go outside and explore the world around us to create masterpieces that are from nature and most importantly inspired by nature.

CSI Camp – Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a crime scene investigator like those on popular shows? In our CSI camp, campers will get hands-on experience with a variety of forensic science techniques, like lifting prints from surfaces, making castings of footprints, analyzing blood spatter, and more! Campers will also have a chance to meet with local police detectives. 

Game of Drones Camp – Celebrate your summer by flying, flipping, curving, and creating your own drone missions that encompass science, technology, math, and engineering! Do not let your learning and creativity fade while you’re out of school. Join the adventure of drone education and sharpen your skills while exploring everything from autonomous flight to three-dimensional coordinates, while discovering how this knowledge is applied in the real world!  The best part? You don’t even need to have a drone because you will have access to the brand-new DroneBlocks simulator! All missions can be launched and viewed on your computer! 

Let’s Build Camp – If you build it, they will come. Campers will engage in hands on STEAM adventure where they’ll learn to build and operate simple machines! We’ll catapult ourselves to new levels as we explore all things Lego. THIS WILL BE AT THE KINDERGATEN CENTER IN UPPER DARBY

Step It Up Camp – “All set? You bet!” This command is all we need to begin the process of learning how to ‘Step’. Together we will explore how to use our bodies as an instrument to produce complex rhythms and sounds through a mixture of footsteps, spoken word, and hand claps. Our Intro to Stepping camp is a creative way to stay active while learning the popular art forms of communicating and dance. ‘Step up’ to the rhythm and join us.  

*Steppers must wear sneakers everyday

The programs designed for everyone, and the possibilities at YMCA summer day camps are limitless. Each day your camper will spend as much time as possible in fresh air, outdoors in a day jam-packed with summertime activities including:

• Kid’s Choice: open free play where campers choose from awesome activities like arts & crafts, games, music and so much more.
• Camp Games: Children gain confidence, learn the value of teamwork and make friends in an environment of friendly competition.
• Arts & Crafts: Campers get to create beautiful and unique pieces of art. They get their hands dirty as they paint, glue and bring their imaginations to life!

Little Camp at the Kindergarten Center –  A camp for children who are transitioning into Kindergarten in the fall.

LIT Camp – Let us help your child develop sound decision-making skills by providing challenging and fun character building experiences. LITs enjoy all the fun of camp with their peers while also demonstrating leadership skills by planning and teaching camp activities to younger campers. LITs must apply before registering.

Ridley Day Camp – These day camps focus on fun and improving the well-being of children. Ridley Let’s Build Camp – Campers experience the hands-on fun of model building, from concept to completion. We’ll use Legos, K’nex, Lincoln Logs and more to help campers build using their imagination and foster teamwork and collaboration.

Ridley Science Camp – Your child’s curiosity will emerge as they explore, experiment, ask questions and try lots of new science related activities. They’ll also enjoy swimming and other traditional camp activities throughout the week.

Scenic Day Camp – These day camps focus on fun and improving the well-being of children. Scenic Sports and Games Camp – Be active all day at our Sports and Games camp! This is a camp to participate in sports and games all day. Our camps will focus on teamwork. This camp will include fundamentals of a variety of sports and exciting instruction on new games for the outdoors!

Springfield Dance Camp – Campers have an opportunity to learn different styles of dance including; ballet, hip hop and classical line dances. Campers will also enjoy kids yoga and play other dance games with their peers.

Springfield Cheerleading Camp – Campers have an opportunity to learn different cheers and routines.

Springfield Arts & Crafts, Science, Build & More Camp – A fun mix of the above specialty camps mixed together.

Sports Specialty Camps – Camps are designed to build on fundamental skills through daily instruction, skill development, daily contests & competitive play. All players will receive hands-on instruction by Coaches with Varsity level or College experience. Campers will learn all aspects of the game as well as participate in conditioning activities geared toward the specific sport week. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or advanced player, our camps will help your camper improve their game and build their self-confidence!

Springfield Tennis Camp – Looking to get your child into tennis? Our Springfield YMCA Tennis Camp is here to help you. Each week will focus on skill development in a fun environment that will incorporate individual and team competition. Goals will be set to teach kids how to rally with one another and play matches. Kids will be coached by experienced staff and supervised by a certified professional.

Must be a Springfield School District Resident – Camp runs from 6/19 to 8/11. The camp hours are from 8:30am to 3:30pm
